Chadburns-Mollart PT high duty single ball universal joint type 300-2 are manufactured in high tensile alloy steel and consist of a ball grooved in two planes at right angles to each other and two forked members which embrace the ball by more than 180 ° sliding in the grooves. The sliding and fitting surfaces are ground to a 0.013mm tolerance. Available in seven standard sizes with bores to suit the customer’s requirements.
These joints will operate up to 38 ° angle although we recommend for powered operation the working angle should not exceed 26 °, the joints are not suitable for use where compressive or tensile loads are present. Protection covers are recommended and are available for all joints.
Special versions of these joints are available such as non-standard end fittings or reduced in weight for aircraft applications.
